Information Visualization
Information visualization identifies the research area concerned with the visualization and analysis of non-spatial data. We are launching several projects in this area. All projects deal with interactive visualization of large-scale data with many parameters and many dimensions. We are developing both basic tools and applications. Basic tools include those for exploring high dimensional spaces, finding which dimensions are closely related, and then studying the detailed data patterns in those dimensions using a variety of information visualization representations. Applications include genomic visualization, visual interfaces for multimedia databases (including imagery and video), and business intelligence visualization.
